The Carbon Impact of Video Streaming.

Join DIMPACT and the Carbon Trust for the virtual launch of the white paper: The Carbon Impact of Video Streaming. 10 June 2021 / 17:00 – 18:00 CEST

About this event

The climate impact of video streaming has received its fair share of attention. Despite the surge in interest, there is no established baseline and little credible research available on the carbon footprint of video streaming. Based on extensive literature reviews, desk research, modelling validation, and expert interviews, the purpose of the new white paper from the Carbon Trust is to present the current magnitude and trends for the electricity consumption and carbon emissions associated with video streaming. The report will also outline policy trends, both on governmental and company level, and set out future perspectives.

Date and time

Thu, 10 June 2021 / 17:00 – 18:00 CEST (Online)

At this event, Andie Stephens from the Carbon Trust will present key findings from the report, followed by commentary from representatives from the University of Bristol, the BBC, NENT Group, and Netflix. There will also be time to ask questions and discuss the findings.

This is an invitation-only event.
